ICE Field Trip 2020: Travel to Bataan

For this school year's field trip, International Colleges for Excellence, Inc. students travelled to the province of Bataan. As an ICEan who have joined the trip, I would like to share the experiences and stuff I had in Bataan.

Bataan is known not only for its mesmerizing natural sceneries and nuclear power plant, but also for its historical heritage in the Philippines.

🚩 First stop: Dambana ng Kagitingan
After around two and a half hours of bus travel from Urdaneta City, Pangasinan via TPLEX and SCTEX, we reached the top-tier of Mt. Samat where the Philippine National Shrine is seated. It is known as the Shrine of Valour because it reflects the valour (or "kagitingan") of the Filipino people during the World War II.

In this shrine stands the 545-meter-tall memorial cross.

These are some of the other attractions you can see at the shrine:

1.) Beautiful landscapes on the mountains
Such abundant trees and plants give a scenic feel to the environment during our stroll around the Dambana ng Kagitingan.

2.) The Altar of Valor
As written in the plaque, this altar was built in honor for the people who fought in Bataan during the World War II. Their bravery and sacrifices are deeply cherished and looked up to by the Filipino people.

3.) World War II Museum

🚩  Second stop: Sinagtala Farm Resort
After we took eat-all-you-can lunch at Espada's Grill, we head straight into the main itinerary of the year -- the Sinagtala Farm Resort. Sinagtala was derived from two separate words, "sinag" and "tala". Tala literally means "star" but it is also the name of the place where it is located. (Address: Tala Road, Brgy. Tala, Orani, Bataan.)  Sinag because in this place you can witness the rising and setting of the sun.

This is a picture of me and my friends at one of the landscape sceneries in Sinagtala.

Sinagtala Farm Resort provided us with amazing sceneries, and that includes the overlooking pools which have a nice ocean blue color.

The flowers in the resort also bloom vibrantly, making the scenery more beautiful and lively.

This is my friend who I captured pictures and shoot videos of. She loved the view from the deck to the Sun Pool (if that's the term).

Besides being a farm resort, Sinagtala puts its travel-worthiness to the top, with its adventure park! It offers an array of adventures such as Sky Zip and Paintball. With the package included in our field trip fee, we got to experience the Sky Bridge and Sky Bike, so that's what I'll be talking about more.

The next day, we tried some of the adventure park amenities.

SKY BRIDGE
It is a long and shaky bridge that you need to pass through. It must really be challenging and scary you won't be able to get to the other side without shouting "TAMA NAAA!" (STOP IT!) because of mixed thrill and fear. Nevertheless, it was a fun experience.
This is a video clip when we were starting to pass through the sky bridge.

SKY BIKE
In this activity, you got to ride a bicycle along a thin strip of metal stretching to a point on the other mountain. Do not worry because the bicycle is fixed to a strong metal overhead. You don't even have to balance, just kick the pedal continuously, and you'll be fine.

🚩  Last stop: Vista Mall and Cinema

In the cinema, we watched a murder mystery movie entitled "Knives Out". I'm not sure if I would be biased about this because I really like mystery stories, but the movie we had is a gooooood one. I enjoyed it so much, it's very unpredictable. The plot is thick though it did not seem earlier. Anyway, I'm just telling it's a nice movie to watch, but I'm not really here for a movie review.

Back to the mall, the first thing I noticed is that it was not a crowded place, which is a good thing we got to roam comfortably. The mall has only two floors (or three?) as I remembered. And another thing I noticed is that there were many kids stations there. Anyways, going next to the cinema.

I can say that the graphics are of good quality, the seats are comfortable, and the sound is clear and not too loud. The whole cinema experience is smooth I almost forgot I was at the cinema (lol).

I did not get any pictures inside the cinema.

Overall, I can say that the whole field trip experience is fun. It can be improved more, though. BUT STILL, I can say that Bataan is a nice place. If you're looking for a scenic but also progressive province --- catch Bataan!!
